This project documents a hardwood floor refinishing process carried out on floors that had been hidden beneath carpet for many years. From the beginning, the focus was on revealing the original wood surface and assessing its condition after long-term coverage. Next, the floors were sanded to remove adhesive residue, surface damage, and uneven coloration. As a result, a natural polyurethane finish was applied to protect the wood and restore a consistent appearance. Overall, the hardwood floor refinishing process returned durability, clarity, and functionality to the original flooring.
